OUR TITLE SPONSOR: ENSPORT

ENSPORT

OUR NUTRITION SPONSOR: SQUEEZY

Athlete’s want their sports nutrition and supplements to work quickly and efficiently as well as easy on the stomach and to offer them a variety of tastes to tantalise the taste buds. Equally, the products will have to be easy to use and to transport. Every new product that is developed by SQUEEZY has to meet those criteria.

Our product lines are developed in cooperation with elite athletes and sports scientists and we always put the needs of the athlete to the forefront of any development.
As a result we offer some different tasting gels such as our savoury-salty tomato or even refreshing-tangy beer. With the refillable packs for our ENERGY GELS we also developed a sustainable and environmental friendly packaging solution.

The packaging also distinguishes between products with caffein (red) or caffein-free (orange) which makes it easy to negotiate our wide range of products.

SQUEEZY SPORTS NUTRITION: GELS, BARS, DRINKS, FRUIT GUMS.

Our product offering includes a number of energy gels, energy bars and energy drinks with and without caffein in a variety of flavours. Through this wide choice of products can every athlete from any sport, find his product which meets his very individual demands.

All of our products contain a combination of simple and complex carbohydrates. This matrix of simple and complex carbohydrates ensures that energy is quickly made available to the body through glucose and fructose. The energy levels are then sustained through maltodextrin and isomaltulose.

Additionally our products contain minerals such as sodium, potassium and, in some cases, magnesium. These minerals support the muscles during training and competition, for example to help prevent cramping, and play an important part in the body’s metabolic processes, for example the energy metabolism.

VÉRTES HILLS

The Vértes is the middle section of the Transdanubia Mountains, situated between the ranges of Bakony and Gerecse. Its average height is 350 meters with no more than about 480 m peak altitudes. Still, when viewed from the surrounding flatland, the Vértes impresses the spectator as a much higher mountain, owing mainly to the sharp cleft of its edges. In the Middle Ages, the Vértes was from all sides surrounded by deeply set swampy pastures. As a result of continuous draining efforts, the marshland of the past is hardly traceable today. Some remains of what used to be swampy meadows are to be found at the skirts of the Vértes: the grassland of Csíkvarsa.

The Protected Landscape Area of Vértes, encompassing some 15 thousand hectares of land in the mountains, was established by the National Bureau of Natural and Environmental Protection in 1976. This area of increased protection was originally created with the purpose of safeguarding the natural heritage of the Vértes and its surrounds in a condition that would be enjoyable for future generations as well, with special regard to the fact that the prominent cities of this area – Tatabánya, Székesfehérvár, Mór – had already set out on a path of pronounced industrialisation.

How this heritage may be described? First and foremost, there is the biological diversity and natural richness that developed in this relatively restricted territory due to beneficial environmental factors. The high degree of diversity is evidenced in the geological structure and the physical and environmental features of the ground as well as the wide variety of plant and animal species.

In geological terms, the southern versants of the Vértes rest on a dolomite foundation, while in the northern flanks, part of the fundamental rock is Dachstein limestone. As the dolomite surface gave way to erosion and tabular cleavage, steep clefts, rocky walls, upthrusts, gaps and narrow creeks formed, endowing the Vértes mountains with a formidable appearance in spite of its relatively low rise above sea level.

LOCATION / START AND FINISH

Szár Village lies on the northeastern border of Vértes Nature Park, on a plateau between the Vértes and the Gerecse Mountains. It is named after Ladislas Szár, the cousin of St Stephen, Hungary’s first king. The earliest written document related to Szár dates back to 1337. The site was abandoned during the Turkish occupation but, in the 1770s, the Esterházy family settled 46 German families here.

A remarkable event in the history of flying is connected to the village. On 16 July 1931, György Endresz and Sándor Magyar landed their plane on the outskirts after crossing the Atlantic in 32 hours, thus breaking the world record of transatlantic flights. On the landing spot there is a memorial, while the date is commemorated annually.

A traditional peasant cottage called Csomó House, and the Roman Catholic church with the parsonage are registered buildings. Jubilee Memorial Park is also worth a visit. The Romhányi Memorial Plaque, the Relocation Memorial and the memorial plaques dedicated to the locals killed in action during the world wars are to be seen in the main street. The renovated Calvary and the Sósi Brook are under local protection.

The village is a popular starting point of hikers heading toward the Vértes Mountains. The main marked pathways start at the railway station. A favourite beauty spot is the forest of Tamás Hill. On the site of the old vineyard new ones are being planted, together with the building of presses and cellars.
